Q. Which company makes the best petrol for performance cars?This question is related for petrol with 97 RON+. I've always used Shell vPower because of it's connections with F1. However, is there a efficiency or performance difference with other 97RON petrols? 2 Answers | Closed

Hi Stig. Have you considered thinking about value and MPG is a better metric to measure fuel quality?
MPG is definitely a consideration, however, like most other factors that define the "performance" of a particular petrol, it can all be quite subjective without controlled lab tests.
Opinions and thoughts about factors such as performance gain, improvements in torque, responsiveness, clean burn are more relevant to fuel of 97+ RON.
And as for price, that varies too from one pump to another it's really not a major factor, unless we are talking about the 102 RON BP ultimate fuel costing over £2,50 per litre!
