Can't go far wrong with Skincare Intellegance. I've only ever seen it in Tesco's so not sure if it's their own brand. Aimed mainly for men I think, but my skin was rough as hell and this has now made a very large difference in not very long at all (3 days)

The best reviews I have read lately are from the Boots No.7 range, which you probabley remember the sell out of the beauty serum after top dermatologists carried out a test with this product amongst much more expensive brands and this was shown to have the most anti aging affect. I think with these results, this tells us that No.7 know what they are doing to be able to produce products which do have results but at affordable prices. Their essential moisturise day cream is £8.50. They also do a night cream at the same price. If you want a lighter lotion, then their day fluid is £9.50. Another product which is also very good for sensitive skin is the French Avene range which is about £13.00 for a moisturizer, if you can stretch that far, also sold in Boots.

I don't know what skin type you have, but my personal opinion and that of most beauty articles I have read over the years is that you cannot beat Nivea.

The texture is quite thick so it moisturises the driest of skins. It is non greasy. It smells gorgeous, but it is not irritating if you have allergies to scents. The old fashioned style tin is very funky, and it is slim enough to fit in the smallest of bags ! You can also put it in the fridge for a lovely refreshing treat on a summers day. If you spread it thick, it makes a great cold cream/ night cream. At less than £2 its a bargain, and loads of celebs swear by it. They also have sun factor moisturizer and tinted moisturizer.

If you have a darker skin tone, I believe Palmers Cocoa Butter is recommended. This is also great for stretch marks and it smells divine ! This is normally under £3, but they do different types all for under £10.
